J. Bruce Millar is a Senior Fellow at the Computer Sciences Laboratory of the Research School of Information Sciences and Engineering, Australian National University. He received his PhD in 1968 from the University of Keele in the UK,where he continued as a Research Fellow. He then received an appointment as a Researchcientist at CSIRO, Canberra, Australia. In 1973, he became a Fellow of the Australian National University. He has had long term interests in Speech Perception and Automatic Recognition, Speaker Characterisation and Speaker Recognition, Cochlear Implant Speech Processing, Spoken Language Data Corpora, and Audiovisual Speech Processing. His current interests focus on the collection and description of data resources that service research at the interface between computer processing and human information processing.
